The Lake Victoria Fisheries Organization (LVFO) is a specialized institution of the East African Community (EAC), established in 1994 to coordinate and manage the sustainable use of fisheries and aquaculture resources in the Lake Victoria Basin. Its mandate encompasses policy harmonization, scientific research, capacity building, and combating illegal fishing across member states, including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Burundi.
