Tanganyika District Council is a local government authority located in Katavi Region, western Tanzania. It is one of the three districts in the region, alongside Mpanda and Mlele. The district's administrative center is in Mpanda.

Key Initiatives and Projects
Tanganyika District Council is actively involved in various development projects, including:
Carbon Trading: The council plans to engage in carbon trading, aiming to generate over TZS 60 billion annually by conserving and managing forest areas such as Tongwe West and East, Nkamba, and a forest corridor covering a total of 748,871 hectares.
Land Certification: Under the Land Tenure Improvement Project (LTIP), the council is working on issuing Certificates of Customary Right of Occupancy (CCROs) to enhance land tenure security for residents.
Environmental Conservation: Efforts are underway to protect wildlife corridors and forest reserves, including the Lyamgoloka corridor connecting Katavi and Mahale National Parks.
Community Development: The council is implementing various programs to improve education, healthcare, and infrastructure within the district.
