The Institute of Finance Management (IFM) is Tanzania’s oldest higher learning institution specializing in finance and related fields. Established in 1972, IFM is a public institution under the Ministry of Finance, dedicated to providing education, research, and consultancy services in areas such as banking, insurance, social protection, taxation, accountancy, and information technology.

Accreditation and Partnerships
IFM is fully registered and accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET). The institute has established strategic partnerships with international institutions, including Coventry University in the UK, aiming to enhance research collaboration, develop new PhD programs, and undertake joint consultancy projects.
Student Body and Alumni
Currently, IFM enrolls approximately 15,000 students across its various programs. The institute boasts a strong alumni network of over 38,000 graduates who have contributed significantly to various sectors in Tanzania and beyond.
