The Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA) is a private-sector, member-based apex body that represents and supports the horticulture industry in Tanzania. Established in 2004, it serves as the collective voice for farmers, traders, exporters, and processors involved in fruits, vegetables, flowers, and spices.
Its vision is to build a vibrant, prosperous, and sustainable horticultural industry in Tanzania, while its mission is to promote development, competitiveness, sustainability, and profitability within the sector.
Membership & Reach
TAHA has a network of over 25,000 members across Tanzania and Zanzibar. Its members are categorized into:
Comprehensive members – large producers, exporters, and processors.
Allied members – service providers such as agro-input suppliers, financial institutions, logistics companies, and consultants.
Associate members – smallholder farmers, groups, and individuals engaged in horticulture.

Area Role of TAHA
Policy & Advocacy Represents the horticultural industry in discussions with government and regulators to create a favorable environment.
Technical Support Provides training, extension services, and helps farmers adopt good agricultural practices and new technologies.
Market Access Connects members with local and international markets, facilitates trade, and provides market intelligence.
Logistics & Value Chains Through its commercial arm, TAHA Fresh, it offers logistics, transport, cold storage, and produce handling services.
Research & Information Operates the TAHA Research and Information Centre (TARIC), which provides industry data, market insights, and value chain analysis.

TAHA operates with two complementary arms:
Development Division – focuses on policy, advocacy, and capacity building.
Commercial Division – operates services like TAHAFresh Handling Ltd for logistics and TARIC for industry information.
