About Msingi/Tee: Msingi/Tee is a tablet-based program that provides supplementary learning for students in Standards 1, 2, and 3. By putting Imagine Worldwide tablets and teus  in children’s hands, the program provides a low-cost, scalable, and effective solution to accelerate learning. It focuses on foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Msingi/Tee contributes to children in Tanzania building the literacy and numeracy skills needed to achieve their full potential.

Your Goals: As our Msingi/Tee Field Supervisor, you will oversee up to 10 schools, ensuring the long-term success of the program. You’ll maintain functional hardware, ensure sessions run smoothly and on time, and provide every  with their intended weekly minutes of learning (‘time on task’). Your work will build the capacity and capacity of school management and teachers to drive daily attendance, student retention, and enrollment. Success will be measured by maintaining or improving ‘time on task,’ and student retention and enrollment (especially for female students) across your schools.

Your Responsibilities: This is a snapshot of your responsibilities—it’s not exhaustive, and we encourage you to take ownership of your role in ways that drive program success.

  • Equipment and Infrastructure: Ensure the completion and correction of hardware, software, infrastructure, and security improvements in all your schools by the program launch date.
  • Teacher Training: Train all of your teachers in the Msingi/Tee program and provide on a need basis to identify best practices for equipment and session management, foster ownership of practices to drive program success, and build the capacity of the teachers.
  • Time-on-Task Monitoring: Ensure that every child reaches the target of 120 minutes of tablet use per week (Time-on-Task). Identify the top performing schools/teachers to share best practices with them and school leadership to address gaps through coaching, scheduling support, and data-driven insights.
  • Community Sensitization: Conduct initial and ongoing sensitization efforts to engage and educate the community, parents, and religious leaders on the program, ensuring long-term sustainability (such as equipment ownership and student attendance).

Quickly flag and resolve any issues with data reporting within  hours (data integrity).

        • Data Usage: Use collected data to deliver actionable feedback to stakeholders during meetings, fostering data-driven discussions. Safeguard user data effectively and independently.
        • School Oversight: For the first few months, visit each school every day, and after stabilizing at least every 2 weeks, increasing visits if performance lags. Provide daily remote follow-ups when performance is stable and to  gaps when they appear.
        • Problem Solving: Involve ward counterparts (WDCs) and, when appropriate, district officials to address gaps that are high risk and persistent, and to provide support.

        Your Qualifications: These are some of the experiences and achievements we value:

        • Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development, Education, or related field.
        • 3+ years of experience in driving adult behavior and community-level change initiatives.
        • Experience working in rural communities with familiarity with rural community dynamics.
        • Experience in engaging and partnering with government partners at the ward/district level.
        • Experience implementing or supporting digital or technology-based programs.
        • Experience engaging with and training adult teachers.
        • Experience with data and M&E processes.
