Accountant – Based in ArushaDakik Expeditions, a fast-growing and reputable tour operator based in Arusha, we are looking to hire a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our team.This position is ideal for someone who is well-versed in the tourism industry’s accounting practices and understands the unique financial demands of a travel business. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting overall financial planning and reporting.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and generate appropriate financial reports
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements in Tanzania
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting for company projects and operational needs
- Reconcile income and expenditure related to tours, bookings, and partner payments
- Work closely with the operations and reservations teams to ensure financial accuracy in all transactions
- Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors when necessary
- Minimum of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in accounting within the tourism or hospitality industry in Tanzania
- Proficiency in Tallyaccounting software is necessary
- Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and compliance
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Speaks English fluently
