We are looking for a capable Tax and Accounts Specialist to join our Dar es Salaam team and support the delivery of tax, accounting, and financial compliance services for a range of client assignments under the Tanzanian regulatory framework.
Responsibilities
  • Manage tax and accounting assignments for client portfolios in line with the Tanzanian legal, tax, and financial reporting framework.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management accounts, ledgers, and reconciliations.
  • Support tax compliance work, including tax computations, returns, objections, reconciliations, assessments follow-up, and correspondence with the Tanzania Revenue Authority and other relevant authorities.
  • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and ensure timely posting of journals, bank reconciliations, payroll allocations, and month-end close entries.
  • Assist clients with statutory compliance matters, including VAT, PAYE, SDL, withholding tax, and corporate income tax, and other relevant filings.
  • Support audit engagements by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and coordinating documentation with external auditors and internal teams.
  • Provide practical support on accounting systems and client reporting processes, including Excel-based working papers and accounting software.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements and support senior team members in delivering reliable, timely, and professional client service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fluent in English Speaking.
  • CPA or ACCA qualification is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in tax, accounting, audit, or business advisory, preferably within a consulting, audit, or professional services environment.
  • Sound understanding of Tanzanian tax and accounting requirements, with the ability to work across multiple client engagements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and essential hands-on experience with accounting software, particularly Xero and QuickBooks.
