About Ipalamwa General Clinic and the Reaching Children’s Potential (RCP) Program

Ipalamwa General Clinic is a vital part of the Reaching Children’s Potential (RCP) program, implemented in partnership between Global Volunteers and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (KKKT) – Iringa Diocese. This unique program aims to combat stunting and malnutrition among young children in villages in Ukwega Ward, Kilolo District, Iringa Region. The clinic has been a cornerstone of community health, significantly contributing to a reduction in stunting rates by more than 57 percent over four years, according to a 2023 study by the Tanzania Food and Nutrition Center (TFNC). Through its primary health services, maternal and child care, emergency services, and the recent launch of surgical services in 2025, Ipalamwa General Clinic continues to serve as a model of success in improving the lives and well-being of rural communities.

Job Opportunities Announced

The leadership of KKKT–Iringa Diocese, through the Health Department, announces two job positions as follows:

1. Second-Level Doctor (MD)

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Hold a Second-Level Doctorate degree from a university recognized by the government.
  • Be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
  • Have at least two years of experience.

General Qualifications:

  • Be a Tanzanian aged 18 to 45 years.
  • Have the ability to work dedicatedly and with additional hours.
  • Salary scale: TGHS-E

2. Nurse Anesthetist (Second-Level)

Work Location: Ipalamwa General Clinic – Kilolo District, Iringa Region

This is a crucial position to participate in the launch of new surgical services at Ipalamwa General Clinic, operating under the Reaching Children’s Potential (RCP) program in partnership with KKKT-Iringa Diocese and Global Volunteers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments before surgery and plan anesthesia.
  • Administer and monitor anesthesia safely during surgery.
  • Monitor patients after surgery, including pain management.
  • Manage anesthesia equipment and medications.
  • Participate in other clinic services, emergencies, and health worker training.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nursing with specialized training in Anesthesia from a recognized institution.
  • At least two years (2) of experience in Anesthesia work.
  • Valid license to practice from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Integrity, creativity, and adaptability to the rural clinic environment.

Other Benefits: Negotiable with the employer. Type of Employment: Three-year (3) contract.
